Hey y’all! Happy Hump Day! I hope y’all are staying strong and persevering through this week! I’ve been having a super hard time staying motivated. Today I didn’t even want to go to Pure Barre but I gathered the strength to keep going. I felt so much better after going this morning.
I really wanted to talk about these weight loss trends that keep coming and going. They’ll promise a slimmer body, more energy, and quick results. Last week I tried coconut water and applr cider vinegar. Not together but separately. Let me disclose that I have no allergy to either of these products. I havd had allergy testing done and I know what specifically I’m allergic to and what I am not. There are specific things people fail to mention about these fads. Let’s start the Coconut water (Vita Coco):
- Hydrating. It will instantly hydrate you.
- Tastes OK. It’s not great but see cons for details
- Affordable. Probably the best thing about it. It’s cheap!
- SALTY! It is so salty you will ask yourself why you should even keep drinking it.
- Laxative! Coconut water is used as a laxative in some cases. You can google it. I didn’t before I drank it and I really wish I had. I didn’t know how bad it would be but the day after drinking the coconut water I literally felt like I had taken a laxative and was on the toilet the whole day! They say for everyone it’s different but BEWARE!!!
Now to the Apple Cider Vinegar:
The claim is 2 tablespoons of ACV in the morning and 2 at night will help you drop weight really fast. I’ve seen people lose as much as 15 lbs in a couple weeks. I honestly have no cons for the ACV except that it will make you poop a lot and that’s what will make you lose weight. If you don’t have 15lbs of waste stored in your body then you will not lose 15lbs. I also think that it does give you energy and help keep your stomach flat. I’m not saying it works for weight loss but it does work in regards to keeping you regular, your stomach from bloated, and increasing your engery. At least this is what happened to me. It’s different for everyone.
Moving on from that topic, I just wanted to talk about what I eat. I eat mostly organic, non gmo (Genetically Modified Organisms), and fresh fruits and vegetables. I feel like it is important to put good food in so that my body isn’t fighting to process chemicals. I would say I’m 95% organic/non-gmo not everything I can buy organic/non-gmo but if not organic I’ll buy it definitely fresh. I don’t eat beef anymore.I eat ground turkey and chicken. I try to eat a salad a day. Very low on the dressing and high on the greens. Even if I’m not losing weight I still want to make sure my body being taken care of with eating the right foods. I only drink water. Sometimes I’ll add lemon and occasionally I’ll have a cup of juice or sip of soda. Although both soda and juice don’t really appetize me anymore. I can’t say all of this stuff is working but I feel better inside when I’m eating healthy and my skin looks a million times better when I stay way from the junk and chemicals.
As for my weight loss, I did stay at my inches lost from last week but I gained weight. It keeps going up and down. Maybe because I’ve been eating poorly since Pure Barre the scale went up. I’m hoping it’s just musle gain and not fat. We’ll see I’m going to eat better and see if the scale moves the way I want to. I feel awful of the way I’ve been eating out a lot. I’ve had no time to meal prep and Taco Bell has been my go to. Ugh so bad Ik especially when I have all this healthy food at home!
