Hi, my name is Dynisha and I’m on a journey to lose 30 lbs by 8/11/2017! I have been stuck in a body that is not mine for too long and had way too many bad habits that contributed to my weight gain. Right now I am 193 lbs. I know it’s not great but that’s why I’m doing this! My short term goal is to lose 30 lbs but my long term goal is to be in between 130-140 lbs. I feel as though I need to be held accountable using this blog and instagram to really be in charge of my weight loss. Today is day one and I’m so excited for tomorrow. I’ll post daily on my instagram ette811 about what will be doing on a daily basis on my weight loss journey and every Saturday I’ll upload a new blog. I hope everyone has a great week and see y’all next Saturday!
Hey y’all! Happy Hump Day! I hope y’all are staying strong and persevering through this week! I’ve been having a super hard time staying motivated. Today I didn’t even want to go to Pure Barre but I gathered the strength to keep going. I felt so much better after going this morning.
I really wanted to talk about these weight loss trends that keep coming and going. They’ll promise a slimmer body, more energy, and quick results. Last week I tried coconut water and applr cider vinegar. Not together but separately. Let me disclose that I have no allergy to either of these products. I havd had allergy testing done and I know what specifically I’m allergic to and what I am not. There are specific things people fail to mention about these fads. Let’s start the Coconut water (Vita Coco):
- Hydrating. It will instantly hydrate you.
- Tastes OK. It’s not great but see cons for details
- Affordable. Probably the best thing about it. It’s cheap!
- SALTY! It is so salty you will ask yourself why you should even keep drinking it.
- Laxative! Coconut water is used as a laxative in some cases. You can google it. I didn’t before I drank it and I really wish I had. I didn’t know how bad it would be but the day after drinking the coconut water I literally felt like I had taken a laxative and was on the toilet the whole day! They say for everyone it’s different but BEWARE!!!
Now to the Apple Cider Vinegar:
The claim is 2 tablespoons of ACV in the morning and 2 at night will help you drop weight really fast. I’ve seen people lose as much as 15 lbs in a couple weeks. I honestly have no cons for the ACV except that it will make you poop a lot and that’s what will make you lose weight. If you don’t have 15lbs of waste stored in your body then you will not lose 15lbs. I also think that it does give you energy and help keep your stomach flat. I’m not saying it works for weight loss but it does work in regards to keeping you regular, your stomach from bloated, and increasing your engery. At least this is what happened to me. It’s different for everyone.
Moving on from that topic, I just wanted to talk about what I eat. I eat mostly organic, non gmo (Genetically Modified Organisms), and fresh fruits and vegetables. I feel like it is important to put good food in so that my body isn’t fighting to process chemicals. I would say I’m 95% organic/non-gmo not everything I can buy organic/non-gmo but if not organic I’ll buy it definitely fresh. I don’t eat beef anymore.I eat ground turkey and chicken. I try to eat a salad a day. Very low on the dressing and high on the greens. Even if I’m not losing weight I still want to make sure my body being taken care of with eating the right foods. I only drink water. Sometimes I’ll add lemon and occasionally I’ll have a cup of juice or sip of soda. Although both soda and juice don’t really appetize me anymore. I can’t say all of this stuff is working but I feel better inside when I’m eating healthy and my skin looks a million times better when I stay way from the junk and chemicals.
As for my weight loss, I did stay at my inches lost from last week but I gained weight. It keeps going up and down. Maybe because I’ve been eating poorly since Pure Barre the scale went up. I’m hoping it’s just musle gain and not fat. We’ll see I’m going to eat better and see if the scale moves the way I want to. I feel awful of the way I’ve been eating out a lot. I’ve had no time to meal prep and Taco Bell has been my go to. Ugh so bad Ik especially when I have all this healthy food at home!
I’m not sure anyone reads my blogs but for those of you reading this thank you so much! I really appreciate the support and encouragement! Also I’m still going to go to Pure Barre until the end of March! I’d love to have y’all join me on a weight loss goal or even challenge on a fitbit?!
Thanks, see y’all later!
Hi, I’m back! I just kicked off my blog and then my computer went M.I.A. I left it back in my hometown with my family. The next time I go home is in a month so I should be able to start back full blogging then. All I have right now is my phone and it’s a pain to blog on it. Maybe once a week I’ll try to make it to a computer to make one big update. 🤔. For now I’m just going to do maybe a daily quick update on some of the things I’m going through or my goals. Things that keep me on this weight loss journey.
For the past month I’ve been really discouraged. I started taking dance classes and then I couldn’t take them anymore because the instructor I had quit. So I went a week or two with no exercise and gained a couple pounds. Also I haven’t been drinking water like I should so I definitely wasn’t fully energized or anything.
This past Monday I decided to try Pure Barre which is a fitness class to Lift, Tone, and Burn. Essentially ballet fusion toning class. I didn’t want to go but I needed to do something! So I went for an hour and it was gruesome. I haven’t worked out like that in years! I ended up signing up for a whole month of classes. I’m taking part in 20 in 31 class challenge. The challenge is to do 20 classes in 31 days and you get a free prize. I’m on day 4 right now. I started the week at 192.2 but now I’m 194.2.
Wrong! I actually lost inches and my clothes fit better because I gained muscle, especially around my core. I’m not so much worried about dropping pounds anymore just changing the composition of my body. Moving from fat to more muscle. If I lose weight that great but I’m more focused on gaining muscle and keeping my metabolism up.
Have y’all tried Pure Barre? What do y’all think about it? I find it hard to find something authentic about it. I’ve seen results videos and pictures but I have no idea if people were paid to write a review or if it’s real people showing real results. 🤔 Either way I still love it. It hurts every time and I’m always dripping sweat afterwards.
I’ve been eating not the best. I definitely have been consuming more carbs than I’d like to admit but I’m working on keeping my carbs to a 2 bread a day maximum. I tend to turn to bread or cake anything like that when I’m hungry. I also have been trying to drink more lemon water with apple cider vinegar. Applr cider vinegar is supposed to be cleansing and help you lose weight… Idk yet I haven’t been taking it steady enough to know.
My goals right now are
- 20 days of pure barre in March
- 2 breads a day
- Drink more water
Thanks for reading I’ll talk to y’all later! Please leave a comment I’ll try to respond as quickly as possible! ❤❤
I really hate weekends! I have so much lag time on the weekend that all I do is snack and forget to drink water. It’s like I’m good Monday through Friday and Saturday hits and I’m eating whatever. Mostly I’m exhausted. I’ve been taking dance classes this week. Each one is an hour. I did 4 classes this week. I don’t even know how I survived. My body is in such pain. I didn’t hydrate like I was supposed to so I ended up being irregular. 😦 Even though I’m in a lot of pain I’m greatful I coule even get out of bed and step back into the studio. I know I have a long way to go but I know I’ll get there. I’m planning on starting to track my steps and excersie with my new fitbit. Does anyone else have one? I’d love to start a step challenge or something to keep us motivated!!
I’ll talk to y’all later! Don’t forget you can follow me on instagram: ette811 I’ll post through out the week! And don’t hesitate to comment on my blog! Thanks!
